REACH Fellowship
The REACH Fellowship is an interdisciplinary training opportunity for public health students to explore the application of storytelling, arts, and culture to advance public health. Fellows engage in global Applied Practice Experiences in partnership with communities in Atlanta, Georgia and Trento, Italy, using ethnographic methods to translate public health research into meaningful, accessible communication tools, such as short films, photo exhibits, and digital stories.
Through training provided by the Emory Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences (BSHES) Department, the Department of Film & Media, and the Department of French and Italian Studies, fellows engage in interactive workshops on storytelling, ethnography, and filmmaking in the context of public health. Throughout the fellowship, fellows work on THRIVE arts and health projects, such as the HEART Media Campaign and Building Bridges Film Intervention Study. The REACH fellowship provides mentorship, funding, and the opportunity to present their work at a public showcase.
